An increase in the volume of the informationto be put away calls for compression techniques. 3D medical images are progressivelyutilized in clinical and exploration applications.Due to the higher size of images, which requires a large amount of storage, there is a need to compress the image size. In telemedicine, compression is required for data preservation and usage of bandwidth is required, during transmission. This paper review the various wavelet transformation techniques used for compressing medical images.
