Abstract

A group of Jungian psychologists and psychoanalysts tried to analyze his opinions from different perspectives. Among them, James Hillman’s movement toward archetypal psychology had a strong connection with literature and literary texts. Due to the expansion of his movement, various types of hero’s journeys and archetypes have been formed namely Jean Shinoda Bolen’s typology, Carol Lynn Pearson’s heroic journey, Robert Bly’s heroic journey, Maureen Murdock’s heroin journey. Goddesses in Everywoman: A New Psychology of Women by Jean Shinoda Bolen is also one of the methods of archetypal critique in the field of typology and recognition of the heroin character. The result of this research shows that applying Shinoda Bolen’s typology and Pearson's heroic journey archetype is useful in analyzing a huge amount of Persian literary texts. In addition to giving a brief introduction to these archetypes, the author has tried to show that the heroines in Savushun correspond to Shinoda Bolen's typology, that they can step into their process of individuation and start their heroic journey. Zari, the heroine, follows the process of individuation by including the seven archetypes. Other characters in the novel, play the role of nurturer for her initiation.
