Corrosion Inhibition on Magnesium alloy in 3% NaCl Solution by Polysaccharide
Main Article Content
Abstract
Corrosion inhibition of polysaccharide (Starch) was investigated for magnesium alloy in 3% NaCl solution. Nyquist plots study showed that reduced the corrosion significantly through the charge transfer mechanism with 85% inhibition efficiency. A Tafel extra polarization study indicated that starch acted as mixed type inhibitor. Scanning Electron microscope, Energy dispersive x-ray analysis, Atomic force microscope and water contact angle studies confirmed through the formation of protective film on the metal surface.
