The psychosocial climate and its relationship to the competitive behavior of young football players

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to identifying the level of competitive behavior and the
psychosocial climate of young football players in the Babylon Governorate clubs, and
identifying the relationship (strength, direction) between competitive behavior and the
psychosocial climate of young football players in the Babylon Governorate clubs.The
researchers followed the descriptive approach in a survey style and correlative studies, and
the research community included the players of the Babylon Governorate football clubs - the
youth category, numbering (204) players distributed on (12) clubs, they are clubs (Al-Hilla -
Al-Janain - Al-Shuhada - Al-Qasim - Al-Nile - Al-Kifl - Al-Musayyab - Al-Seddah - Al-
Shumali - Jableh - Al-Hashmiyah - Al-Baladi), and the main application sample included (72)
players distributed over (12) clubs who were chosen randomly by lottery method, where they
constitute a percentage of (35.29%) of the research community.
The researchers concluded that the young football players of Babylon Governorate
clubs enjoy a good level of competitive behavior, and a psychosocial climate, an increase in
the rate of the psychosocial climate accompanied by an increase in the rate of competitive
behavior of young football players. In light of these conclusions, the researchers
recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are (the necessity of
informing coaches of the importance and role of the concept of competitive behavior and the
psychosocial climate in the sports field, and their impact on the level of performance of
players in training and competition in order to work on its development in their players,
conducting similar studies to build a behavioral scale Competitiveness and the psychosocial
climate, but also conducting several studies on each field of measurements, which enriches
the psychological and sports library and provides more studies for the understanding of
football players).
