Evaluation of Vaccination Session in Al- Diwanyia Governorate, Iraq

Abstract
Background: The goal of implementing the Expanded Program on Immunization is to prevent infection with diseases that can be protected with vaccines. By using vaccines, smallpox has been eliminated, and today the world is very close to eliminating another disease, viral polio.
Objectives: to evaluate the quality of the vaccination session for children under five years of age in Diwanyia Governorate / Iraq.
Subjects and Methods: cross-sectional descriptive study .The vaccination session was evaluated in 21 health facilities, and the vaccination session was evaluated on a sample of 420 children who were randomly selected to monitor the quality of service provided to them during the session.The study was carried out for the period from January 3, 2020 to March 27, 2021.
Results: The study showed that the mean score evaluated the vaccination session in 21 health facilities (15.4 ± 0.6) which is (good), and the mean score evaluated the quality of the vaccination session by observing 420 children during vaccination (21.2 ± 1.1) also (good) and that the proportion of children Those who received the vaccine through a good vaccination session were 89% (372) out of (420 children) who were monitored while receiving their vaccination.
Conclusion: The requirements for implementing a vaccination session in the health center are good, that the implementation of a vaccination session was good, and that most of the children received the vaccine well.
