Her: An Expecting Future

Abstract
This paper focuses on the influence and result of artificial intelligences, about what may happen when human emotions are developed in an operating system and whether they would in turn cause harm to mankind. Her is a 2014 movie directed by Spike Jonaze with a duration of 125 minutes. The movie revolves around a lonely writer , Theodore Twombly and an operating system, named Samantha, who eventually falls for each other. The main idea that Her brings out is about humanity and not technology, where it points out that someone is almost never truly alone, yet cannot escape loneliness. This world created by Spike Jonze is not too far from the real world. By giving emotions and the need for ‘want’ to an operating system is like giving away the unique characteristic that human beings have as their own, which distinguishes them from the OS or machines. The cinematography of the movie has to be given a space as Hoyte Van Hoytema shot scenes where one person never shows up on-screen. Everything that we need is according to the comfortability that the particular thing brings us. Casey Storm , the costume designer has created a soft, comfortable world of tomorrow.
