Synthesis ,Identification and Biological Evaluation for Some Azo Schiff s bases derived from Chitosan

Abstract

This study included three parts, preparation of a group of azo dyes that contain the carbonyl
group and the second part was linking these dyes with chitosan to obtain azo Schiff bases of
chitosan. These compounds were identified by UV-visible, infrared spectra and 1H-NMR spectra
for some of them, while the third part included the evaluation of the effect of one of these
compounds on the concentration levels of kidney function in patients with renal failure compared
with healthy subjects, as well as its effect on concentration levels and serum lipids in myocardial
infarction patients compared with healthy controls.
