Abstract

A number of plant samples were selected in Dhi Qar governorate for cotton roots (Gossypium herbaceum L.), pomegranate peel (Punica granatum L.) and eucalyptus leaves (Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh.), And their aqueous extracts were added (prepared in a ratio of 10: 1, weight: volume of water). At a concentration of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 ml / g of soil with urea fertilizer into a mixture soil to study its ability to inhibit the activity of the enzyme urease and compare it with Ammonium thiosulfate as a standard chemical inhibitor of urease activity, and the effect of aqueous plant extracts on volatilization of ammonia from urea fertilizer added at a level of 300 mg N / kg soil was also tested, and a study of the effect of aqueous extracts added at levels of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 ml / g of soil on the growth of wheat plant (Triticum aestivum L.)

and its absorption of nitrogen, and it was evident through the results that the treatment of aqueous extract of eucalyptus leaves gave the highest inhibition of urease enzyme activity, volatile ammonia and weight gain. The plant's dryness and nitrogen concentration in it were 47%, 90.1 mg NH3-N / kg soil, 0.67 g / pot and 28.80 g / kg dry matter, respectively, The treatment of eucalyptus leaf extract was significantly superior to the treatment of pain. Compare (without inhibitor) and other treatments except for Ammonium thiosulfate.
