Abstract

Plant extracts have been used to protect the surface of mineral materials from corrosion with a wide range. Generally, the efficiency of these extracts is determined through electrochemical tests, which include techniques such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potential dynamic polarization and weight loss measurement. The Investigating of inhibition efficiency of the different concentrations of extracts is great importance to obtain a future vision for the selection of a specific extract for a for practical use. This article offers a summary of the most recent studies from an industrial and environmental perspective on the study of plant leaves extracts as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel surfaces in corrosive mediums. In this study, the inhibition efficiencies of the plant leaves extracts tested were significantly 84-98%. Corrosion-affecting variables such as concentration, solvent extraction, temperature, and immersion time were also reviewed.
