COVID-19: The Unseen

Abstract

COVID-19 has infected millions of people all over the world, has caused many casualties. As of December, 80.4 Million people have been infected with the virus, and around 148K has lost their lives worldwide. The Indian economy has also faced the adverse effect of Covid-19. The unemployment rate has been rosed to 26% from 6.7% in the lockdown period only. Indian GDP has decreased by 2 quarters, continually causing the economic recession in the country. There are many other adverse effects of the COVID-19 on India or the World, but there are some positive effects due to lockdown if we see the bright side. Lockdown caused a sudden stoppage in all human activities all over the world.

Due to the sudden stoppage of automobiles or different types of gadgets that are used to cause pollution, the level of carbon dioxide emission has dropped suddenly, and the level of air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, and other pollution decreased to a very extent. There is an 8.8% decrease in global carbon dioxide emersion (-1551 Mt CO₂) in the first six months of 2020 compared to the previous year. This much decrease in the level of carbon dioxide and other pollution has positively affected global warming.

Due to an increase in sanitation practice and more care in personal and public hygiene, which indeed needed of the hour and much-needed change in one's personal life and society, there is a decrease in the incidence of another contagious disease, there is also the change of behavior of people towards certain professions like doctors who are doing there duty without worrying about their life, nurses who are working 24 into 7 to provide the best care to the patients, police officers and other professionals who are working hard to make this pandemic easy for other people and in general more sympathy towards other people. Though it has many harmful effects on the pandemic, there are some unseen positive effects.
